Dr. Inchiosa and Dr. Chadha to present at ASME 08

Two of NuTech Solutions top scientists, Dr. Mario Inchiosa and Dr. Bipin Chadha, will be co-presenting a paper on the “Role of Agent Based Financial Market Models in Global Product Development” at the 2008 American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Computers in Engineering Conference that will take place in New York City on Aug 3rd – 6th. As the world continues to flatten, the significance of global competition including the ever shifting global consumer behaviors and interdependent financial markets is instrumental in developing products. The models presented in this paper develop deeper understandings of the potential for financial crises in order to anticipate the impact of future unplanned and unexpected regional and systemic financial crises through agent based modeling (ABM).

Dr. Chadha is also the co-chair for a special session on Agent Based Modeling and is facilitating a panel discussion on “Present and Future Applications of Agent Based Modeling in Engineering and Science.” Dr. Inchiosa will participate in the panel along with other industry experts.

Association of Consumer Vehicle Lessors Conference

The Association of Consumer Vehicle Lessors held their annual conference in Detroit, promoting high ethical standards of conduct and vigorous competition as a way to promote the growth of and public confidence in consumer vehicle leasing. Participating on a panel of experts, NuTech Solutions presented a discussion on remarketed vehicle distribution logistics, focusing on leading scientific advances in optimization and price prediction.

GigaCon is a yearly event that brings business leaders and technology providers together to explore the application of state-of-the-art tools to Business Intelligence. EUROMECH Efficient Methods for Robust Design and Optimization

Experts from NuTech Solutions presented the benefits of using meta-models in the early phases of product development at this conference held in London. This conference addressed robustness analysis to guarantee quality and reduce noise when working with the optimization of very complex and multi-disciplinary problems. NuTech participating in USSTRATCOM GISC Deterrence Project Workshops

On September 5-7, 2007 NuTech Solutions continued its ongoing support of the “Deterrence Project Workshops” being conducted by US Strategic Command’s Global Innovation & Strategy Center (GISC) and the Defense Directorate of Research & Engineering (DDR&E). The workshops seek to examine specific aspects of state and non-state deterrence in the 21st century global environment. Beginning with an initial 120-day effort aimed at assisting military and federal government deterrence planners, the intent was to instantiate the latest deterrence and decision making scholarship into a product that might guide the planner to "ask the right questions" and better inform our range of potential actions and responses. NuTech representatives are contributing to the follow-on discussions in several areas including appropriate application of agent based generative models and optimal portfolio technologies for rapid evaluation of Course of Action (COA) implementation plans.

Institute for Defense Analysis (IDA) Complex Adaptive Systems Brown Bag Lecture Series

NuTech Solutions Senior Fellow Dr. David Davis was the lead presenter at this month’s IDA Brown Bag Lecture Series on Complex Adaptive Systems. Dr. Davis’ presentation centered on the application of probabilistic-based simulations for resolving complex problem spaces. The lecture series is an ongoing outreach program that brings leaders in the field into the IDA to share cutting edge theory and application.
